Critical Incident Dispatch Team PDF Print

Mission Statement: The team will provide professional field support and relief communications to public safety agencies in Jefferson County.

CT1

CT1: Evergreen Fire Rescue personnel can utilize this command vehicle (CT1) as a mobile dispatch center for incidents inside and outside the district.  Although serving as a remote Incident Command Post is its primary function, CT1 has a bank of radios inside that enables it to serve as a communications center, too.  Dispatchers can communicate on UHF, VHF and 800 mhz frequencies to improve the safety of crews working a particular incident.

Evergreen Fire Rescue Communications participates in the Jefferson County Combined Incident Dispatch Team (CIDT).

Formed in 2002, the CIDT was designed to alleviate the load placed on local 911 communications centers during major incidents and is now considered an “all hazards” team.  The group is comprised of dispatchers from each of the nine communications centers in Jefferson County.

When called out, or activated, team members will either respond to the scene of an incident or to the county’s Emergency Operations Center (EOC) in Golden to handle on-scene radio traffic and resource allocation. The dispatchers also may be called to assist within specific dispatch centers.

Trainings are conducted bi-monthly and include topics ranging from hostage situations to wildland fires. Since knowledge and experience are crucial in handling large-scale events, each dispatcher must be recommended by their host agency before membership is granted to the team.

Some of the Team Call-Outs Include: - Snaking Fire - Hayman Fire - Blue Mountain Fire - I-70 Girder Collapse - Upper Bear Creek Fire - North Table Mountain Fire - Plainview Fire

Member Agencies: Arvada Fire Protection District, Evergreen Fire Rescue, Golden Police and Fire Dispatch, JeffCo ARES, Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, Lakewood Police Department
West Metro Fire Rescue, Westminster Police and Fire Dispatch, Wheat Ridge Police

Jeffco Command Van
Jeffco
: Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office also has a mobile communications center, but its vehicle includes the luxury of protecting personnel from the elements.  These two vehicles can work together to assist with incident communications. The JCSO vehicle could park at the Incident Command Post while Evergreen Fire Rescue’s vehicle drives to a more remote site and provides a link between personnel on the ground and incident command
